Geneva International Airport, Switzerland‘s second largest, lies 5 km (3 miles) northwest of downtown Geneva, in Cointrin.
Kindly note that the Geneva International Airport offers every passenger arriving in Geneva a UNIRESO ticket free of charge, valid for 80 minutes in Geneva public transportation (trains, buses, trams, and boat). You may obtain your ticket in the baggage claim area, in a dispenser located next to the conveyor belts. A valid air transportation document (Boarding Pass or Plane Ticket) must be presented in the event of ticket inspection on the network.
Gare Cornavin is the main Railway Station in Geneva. It is located in the city centre, 10 minutes walking distance from the Lake and 20 from Geneva Old Town. High-speed trains ((TGV)) run from Paris (about 3 1/2 hours ride) and other French cities, while EuroCities go to Italy and other countries. Geneva is also well-connected by rail from Germany and the rest of Switzerland.

Entering Switzerland via a highway (i.e. Geneve “Bardonnex“) requires the payment of the Highway annual tax of CHF 40. Those with no further plans to use the Swiss highway system should enter via a “regular“ road.
To reach the Palexpo, take the motorway and follow the signs to the airport (Aéroport) or Palexpo. Parking possibilities are available directly at the Palexpo (P12). More than 2,800 parking spaces are available to visitors and exhibitors directly on the Palexpo site. The P12 car park also has designated disabled parking.
Please note that if staying in a hotel in Geneva during the congress, the Geneva transport card (personal and non-transferable) will be received upon check-in in your hotel, offering free use of the entire public transportation network without restriction (bus, train and boat), with validity for the entire duration of your stay at the hotel, including the departure day.
The Palexpo site is located at a railway and road traffic hub in the very heart of Europe, just a 10-minute walk from Geneva Airport and its railway station and a 15-minute bus ride from the city centre.
Trains operating at regular intervals take only 10 minutes to run between the airport and the centre.
By bus
Efficient ground transfers are available from Geneva Palexpo to the city centre and the main train station. Line N° 5 bus (Hôpital – Palexpo – Aéroport) links Geneva Palexpo with the City Centre in 20 minutes and runs frequently from early morning to late in the evening.
