Abstract submitters had the opportunity to put forward free papers, posters and clinical cases which were all reviewed by our expert group of Scientific Advisors, to whom we are very grateful for their excellent work and commitment.
A total of 1763 abstracts have been accepted:
- 676 free papers,
- 990 posters,
- 81 clinical cases and
- 16 nurse abstracts
The validated abstracts are now part of the final scientific programme for the EFORT Geneva congress. Please note that the nurse abstracts will be presented during the nurse session.
Remember: If your abstract has been accepted, please register online to the full congress before 29 February 2016!
INFORMATION ON ABSTRACT ACCEPTANCE
You have by now been notified by email about the acceptance of your abstracts(s). However, if you have not received the information, please email scientific.support@efort.org
IMPORTANT TO NOTE! The presenting author of an accepted abstract is required to attend the congress and present the abstract on the given day and time indicated in the acceptance email.
EFORT therefore requires all presenting authors to register by 29 February 2016 at the latest. Only registrations for the full Congress are accepted (no day registrations).
Please note that only the presenting authors who have registered to the 17th EFORT Annual Congress Geneva 2016 by the given deadlines, have been notified by email on Wednesday 23 March 2016 about the validation of his/her abstract to the final scientific programme.
It is important to note, however, that if you have not registered to the congress on time by the given deadlines, your abstract has been excluded from the final scientific programme. You should have received an email communication about this by now.

TYPES OF ABSTRACTS
ORAL PRESENTATIONS (Free Paper Sessions)
- Only computer projection will be available for presentations in the meeting rooms.
- To ensure that sessions run smoothly, please refer to the “Free Papers” section under the Presentation Guidelines page for details.
- The best-rated Free Papers may be put forward for the EFORT Free Paper Award.
- From the presentations that are received, the three best will be selected for the award.
- The authors of the selected papers will be informed prior to the Congress, and certificates will be presented during the official opening ceremony.
POSTER PRESENTATIONS
- The poster presentations will be in wall poster format. Please refer to the “Posters” section under the Presentation Guidelines page for details.
- A large display area within the exhibition will be dedicated to poster presentations.
- Out of the best-rated poster abstracts submitted for the Congress, the ten best will be awarded the Jacques Duparc Award.
- Authors will be informed prior to the Congress, and certificates will be presented during the official opening ceremony.
CLINICAL CASES (Oral)
- Only computer projection will be available for presentations in the meeting rooms.
