Interactive Experts Exchanges: be part of the challenge

The three Interactive Expert Exchange (IEE) sessions scheduled for our upcoming Lisbon meeting will allow attendees to sustain or reject a commonly used procedure by extensively discussing all treatments available for a specific medical condition. The session format is therefore the equivalent of an open discussion within a group of fellows confronting each other about their daily practice. During this direct exchange, a high involvement of practitioners from the audience arises and challenges each indication or technique presented by the Faculty panel invited.

The high interactivity includes audience-voting moments to involve the attendees in the decisional steps via the question “What would you do?”.

All treatment options are debated depending on the strength of the existing evidence and the most persuasive advice from experts.

The analysis of the voting will measure the impact of the controversy raised and drive the discussion towards the pros and cons of each approach to help the attendees’ decision-making.

Moreover, some clinical cases are presented to bring additional information and an accurate example (of both success and failure) for each condition or technique. This type of session will thus lead practitioners from the audience to challenge each indication presented by the faculty panel and attempt to establish a common strategy for treatment. The format itself, including lectures, open debates and case presentations, will lead to a deep evaluation in three specific topics:
