EFORT Robotic Travelling Fellowship supported by Stryker
From their visits at our host sites in London and Glasgow,
three of our travelling fellows from the UK share their insights with you
In January 2023, Dr. Talal Al-Jabri and Dr. Baseem Choudhry travelled together for 3 weeks and visited Prof. Fares Haddad and his team at the University College London Hospital, Princess Grace Hospital in London as well as Mr. Nick Ohly and his team at the Golden Jubilee Hospital in Glasgow to gain novel insights within the field of robotics applied to hip and knee arthroplasty.
Dr. Al-Jabri reports that "The EFORT Robotic Fellowship represented an extraordinary amalgamation of surgical skill development, academic enrichment, and professional networking…" and “…epitomizes the collaborative and dynamic essence of our specialty, and it is with immense gratitude and honour that I reflect on having undertaken this pivotal experience.”
Then, in April 2023, Dr. Haroon Rehman also visited both host centres even though for a slightly shorter duration. He says that through this fellowship
"I have gained a deeper understanding of their potential to optimise patient outcomes in joint replacement surgeries and a comprehensive understanding of the clinical applications and benefits of robotic surgery."
