This year, one of the main focuses of the EFORT congress will be the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020 launched by the World Health Organisation (WHO). The campaign for road safety comprises five pillars, one of which concerns post-crash care: initial care, hospital care, rehabilitation and return to work. Our aim will be to assess the current situation in Europe. What care do people receive? Are there disparities and, if so, how can they be overcome so that people can have equal access to care. Several WHO experts have been invited to attend in order to discuss these issues with participants.
